Nevada: A Land of Diversity!

After a long road trip around the United States, it was nice to be home!
We got back to Nevada just in time for the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City.
I felt proud to live in Nevada, seeing everyone come together to celebrate.

It was fun to hang out with friends and family, of course!
But it was also cool to see a parade that showed what a diverse state we live in.
The parade was full of different people marching...

Marching future soldiers...
(Nevada JROTC programs!)

...marching musicians...
(CHS Blue Thunder!

...marching Native Americans...
(Washoe, Paiute and Shoshone!)

....marching Mexican Americans...

....marching Scottsmen...

...marching Sikhs...

...marching Republicans...

...marching Democrats...

...marching pioneers...

...marching Presidents...

...marching riflemen...

...and a marching Roller Derby team!
But not everybody was walking...

There were people riding in firetrucks...

...on tractors...

...on submarines...

...on armored trucks...

...dirt bikes...

...cars of the past...

....cars of the future...

...rocket ships...

...bat-mobiles...

...giant native decoys...

...and even a giant stapler!

A Nevada Day Parade wouldn't be complete without HORSES!
And there were lots of them!  There were horses carrying...

...policemen...
(Thanks for keeping us safe!)

...politicians..
(Thanks for the free pen!)

...High School rodeo queens...

...Mexican charros...

....and covered wagons!

It was an amazing parade!
It reminded me of everything I saw on my travels around the States,
and it was cool to think that we had all of it right here in Nevada...

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
